Your Drop Just Posted. Now What?

3 min read · Updated October 2026

Your items are live and the comments are starting to roll in. The good news: the hard part is done, and from here the Sales Assistant does the watching for you. Here’s what happens next and the little bit that’s actually on you.

TL;DR
  • Once your drop is live, the Sales Assistant watches every comment and handles bids, BIN claims, and outbid notices automatically.
  • You don’t have to sit on your phone. Check in now and then, and answer the real questions it flags for you.
  • Each item locks to the first valid claim, so you never double-sell.
  • When the drop ends, winners get their checkout links automatically. Then you pack and ship.

The Assistant takes it from here

The moment your drop is live, the Sales Assistant starts watching your comments in real time. It catches bids, Buy It Now claims, and “sold” the second they land, confirms them right in the comments, and sends outbid notices for you. It’s simple rule-based matching, not AI pretending to be you, so your customers still hear from you for anything that actually needs a person.

First valid claim wins. Each item locks to whoever claims it first, so two people can’t buy the same thing. A later commenter can be marked next in line, but nothing is sold out from under your first buyer.

What’s actually on you

Honestly, not much. The Assistant has the admin. Your job is the fun part and the human part:

  • Keep hyping the drop. Post your reels and stories, talk to your audience, do your thing. The Assistant quietly handles the bids and claims in the background.
  • Answer the questions it flags. When someone asks about sizing, condition, or shipping, the Assistant flags it to you instead of guessing, so you keep the conversation and the relationship.
  • Step away when you need to. It keeps catching bids and claims whether you’re watching or not, so you can put your phone down and check back on your own time.
It’s all yours to adjust. Bid increments, the exact wording of each message, and your block list all live in your Sales Assistant settings. The defaults are ready to go, so you only change what you want to.

What happens when someone wins

You don’t have to build orders or chase anyone down. As the drop runs:

  • Buy It Now: the Assistant confirms the claim in the comments and sends that buyer a checkout link by DM, with their address already on file.
  • Auctions: when bidding closes on an item, the top bidder gets the winner message automatically.
  • Every order shows up for you in one place, with the item, the price, and the buyer’s info, so nothing lives in your comments or DMs. See How Checkout Works and How Comments Work for the details.
Something read as a bid that wasn’t? It happens, like a stray number or a joke in the comments. You can take it back off the item in a couple of taps. See How to Remove a Bid.

When the drop ends

When bidding wraps up, winners get their checkout links, you work through everyone’s bags, and then it’s on to packing and shipping. That’s its own stage, so we walk through it separately in What Happens After Your Drop Ends. If you want to close things out yourself, see How to End a Drop.

So, now what? Mostly, you get to relax a little. Keep selling, answer the questions that come to you, and let the Assistant catch everything else. When the drop closes, your orders are already organized and ready to fulfill.

Common questions

Do I have to watch my phone the whole time?

No. The Assistant watches the comments for you and catches every bid and claim in real time. You just check in when you can and answer any questions it flags.

What if I need to step away in the middle of my drop?

That’s completely fine. It keeps running while you’re gone, catching bids and locking in claims, so you can come back and pick up where you left off.

Does it message my customers for me?

It handles the repetitive messages, confirming claims and sending checkout links, but real questions come straight to you. Your voice and your customer relationships stay yours.

What if two people claim the same item?

The first valid claim wins and the item locks to that buyer. A later commenter can be marked next in line, but the item is never double-sold.

When do my buyers actually pay?

Winners get a secure checkout link automatically, with their address already on file. How Checkout Works has the full picture.
