How Your Customer Form Adapts to Each Customer
When a customer enters their Instagram handle on your form, Thryft Ship recognizes who they are and shows only the fields they need — faster for them, less back-and-forth for you.
- The form adapts in real time based on the customer’s Instagram handle.
- It recognizes four kinds of customers: first-time, repeat, Universal, and open-bag.
- Each one only sees the fields they actually need to fill in.
How the form knows who’s who
As soon as a customer types their Instagram handle, the form checks whether they’ve shopped before — with you or with any Thryft Ship seller — and adjusts what it asks for. Returning customers skip the parts they’ve already done.
The kinds of customers
First-time customer
Someone brand new. They fill out the full form — name, shipping address, and contact info — so you have everything you need to ship.
Repeat customer
Someone who has bought from you before. The form recognizes them and pre-fills their saved details, so checkout is quick.
Universal Customer
Someone who has checked out with any Thryft Ship seller before. Their saved info carries across sellers, so your form fills in for them automatically. More in How Universal Customers Work.
Open-bag customer
Someone with an active open bag with you. The form knows they’re adding to a bag they already started, so their items group together for one combined shipment. More in How Open Bags Work.
Common questions
How does the form recognize a customer?
By their Instagram handle. When they enter it, Thryft Ship checks whether they’ve ordered before and adjusts the form.
What’s the difference between a repeat and a Universal Customer?
A repeat customer has bought from you; a Universal Customer has bought from any Thryft Ship seller. Both get a faster, pre-filled checkout.
What if their details have changed?
Customers can update their info on the form before submitting, even if it pre-fills.
