THRYFT SHIP PAYMENTS
Seeing a pending amount in Thryft Ship and wondering what it means? No need to worry — this is completely normal when processing payments through Stripe.
In short: A pending payment means the customer’s payment has already been approved, but the funds are still taking a little time to fully settle before they move into your available balance.
A pending payment means the customer’s bank, card, or payment method has already approved the payment. The money is on its way — it just has not fully settled yet through Stripe.
In Stripe’s system, funds first show up as pending before they move into your available balance. Once they are available, that is the amount you can pay out to your bank account or whatever payout method you have set up.
According to Stripe, payments often enter your pending balance first while they complete settlement processing.
This short delay is a normal part of payment processing. Even though the customer has successfully paid, the funds still need time to move through the banking and card network systems before they are fully available.

Once that happens, the money moves from pending into your available balance in Thryft Ship.
Example: If a customer pays today, the payment may show as pending right away, but not become available for payout until a few business days later.
You can only pay out funds once they become available.
That means:
So if you are seeing money in your pending amount, that is a good sign — it means the payment is in progress and should move over once settlement is complete.
Usually, no. A pending balance is a normal part of how Stripe processes payments.
If a payment has been pending for longer than about 5 business days, it may be worth double-checking your Stripe account or reaching out to support. But in most cases, this simply resolves on its own once the payment settles.
This explanation is based on Stripe’s documentation around balances and settlement timing:
