How to Create a Manual Sale

2 min read·Updated June 2026

Need to sell an item at a price that isn’t the Buy It Now, or get a buyer checked out quickly? A manual sale creates an order for them in a couple of clicks.

TL;DR
  • Create a manual sale makes a new order at a price you set — not the Buy It Now price.
  • It creates an order on your Orders page; you then send your Thryft Ship link so they check out.
  • Pick someone who already commented or bid, or enter the winner’s username if they aren’t one of them.

When to use a manual sale

Use it whenever you need to check a buyer out at a custom price — say you agreed on a price in the DMs, or you want to move an item quickly outside of bidding. It simply creates an order for that customer, just like any other Thryft Ship order.

How to create a manual sale

  1. Open the item

In your Sales Assistant, click into the active drop and select the item.

  2. Click “Create a manual sale”

In the action buttons under the item, click Create a manual sale.

  3. Choose the buyer

Pick one of the people who already commented or bid, or enter the winner’s username if they aren’t one of the bidders.

  4. Set the price

Enter the price you agreed on. This creates an order for that customer on your Orders page.

  5. Send your link

Send the buyer your Thryft Ship link as usual — they check out by entering their Instagram handle. See How Checkout Works.
