How to Mark an Item as Sold
Sold an item somewhere other than the Sales Assistant — through your Thryft Ship link, or on another app like Depop or Venmo? You can record it in a couple of seconds so your drop and your books stay accurate.
- Mark as sold records a sale that happened outside the Sales Assistant.
- Link it to an existing Thryft Ship order, or note that it sold somewhere else.
- The item gets marked paid and stops showing as available in your drop.
When to use “Mark as sold”
Use it any time an item from your drop sells somewhere other than through the Sales Assistant — for example, a buyer checks out manually through your Thryft Ship link, or you sell it on another platform like Depop or take payment over Venmo. Marking it sold keeps that item from looking like it’s still available, and records the sale for your records.
How to mark an item as sold
- Open the item
In your Sales Assistant, click into the active drop and select the item that sold.
- Click “Mark as sold”
Scroll to the action buttons under the item and click Mark as sold.
- Say how it sold
Either link it to an existing order on Thryft Ship (if the buyer checked out through your link), or mark it as sold elsewhere if it sold on another platform.
- Save
The item is marked paid and updates in the matching order on your Orders page.

Common questions
Does this delete my Instagram post?
No. Marking an item as sold only updates it inside Thryft Ship. If you want the post off Instagram, delete it there yourself.
What’s the difference between “Mark as sold” and “Create a manual sale”?
Mark as sold records a sale that already happened. Create a manual sale makes a brand-new order at a price you choose so a buyer can check out. See Create a Manual Sale.
Will the buyer get a checkout link?
If you link it to an existing order, it follows that order. If you mark it sold elsewhere, it’s just recorded for your books — no new checkout link is sent.
