USPS rate changes took effect on January 19, 2025, bringing updates that include both price decreases and adjustments for certain services all in comparison to Holiday Rates. Many domestic rates have dropped compared to holiday pricing, offering savings opportunities, while select services for shipments to Canada and Australia have seen increases.
Lower domestic rates: USPS has decreased rates across many domestic services, especially in comparison to holiday rates, with reductions ranging from 1% to 26%.
Increases for select packages: A few weight and zone combinations for Ground Advantage and Priority Mail now have slightly higher rates.
Changes for Canada and Australia: Rates for shipping to these destinations have seen modest increases under specific services.
Weight-Based Ground Advantage: Rates decreased by an average of 3.2%.
Cubic Ground Advantage: Rates decreased by an average of 1.2%.
Rates have mostly decreased—great news for expedited shippers!
No changes here—Media Mail rates remain the same.
Rates to Canada and Australia increased by an average of 6%, with some shipments to Canada seeing increases of up to 29%.
