Keep Selling After Your Drop Ends
Your drop ends, but your posts don’t disappear. People still scroll past them, still comment is this still available, still want the thing. Post-sale monitoring means the Sales Assistant keeps answering those people for you.
- Turn it on in your Sales Assistant settings. It’s off until you switch it on.
- The Assistant watches your unsold items for 7 days after the drop ends.
- You decide what counts as a good enough offer — full price only, anything at all, or anything within a set amount of your price.
- When a valid offer comes in, a checkout link goes out automatically. You don’t have to do anything.
What actually happens
Normally the Assistant stops watching a post the moment the drop ends. With post-sale monitoring on, it keeps reading comments on everything that didn’t sell for another seven days.
If someone comments a bid or a Buy It Now on one of those posts, the Assistant compares it to the price you’re willing to accept. If it clears, that buyer gets a checkout link straight away, exactly like they would have during the drop. If it doesn’t clear, they get a polite reply instead.
You don’t have to be watching. You don’t even have to know it happened until the order shows up.
Turning it on
- Open your Sales Assistant settings
Go to Sales Assistant settings.
- Switch on post-sale monitoring
Look for Keep monitoring unsold items after drop ends. It is off by default.
- Pick what you’ll accept
Choose one of the three options below. This is the only decision you have to make.
The three ways to set your price floor
Think of it as how much you want the item gone.
Option A — My price or nothing
If someone offers your price or more, then they get a checkout. If they offer less, then they get a polite no.
Pick this when you’re happy to keep the item rather than discount it.
Option B — I’ll take anything
If anyone offers anything, then they get a checkout for whatever they offered.
Pick this for end-of-season clearouts where the goal is space, not margin. Be aware that it means exactly what it says — a $2 offer on a $40 coat gets accepted.
Option C — Within a little of my price
You set a cushion, either in dollars or as a percentage, and anything inside it is accepted.
If your price is $20 and you set a $3 cushion, then anything from $17 up is accepted. Set it as 20% instead and anything from $16 up is accepted.
This is the one most sellers land on. It lets a reasonable offer through without opening the door to lowballs.
After the seven days
The Assistant stops watching and the items simply stay in your Unsold list. Nothing is deleted and nothing changes — you can still add them to a future drop or run a sale on them whenever you like.
If you update the price in Thryft Ship while monitoring is still running, the new price is what we use from that moment on.
Common questions
Does this cost anything extra?
No. It’s part of the Sales Assistant subscription. Sales made this way are normal sales — the usual 2% platform fee on the item applies, same as any other order.
Will it sell something twice?
No. The first valid offer locks the item, exactly like it does during a drop.
What if I only want it on for some drops?
It’s a single setting that applies going forward, so switch it off any time you don’t want it. It only ever touches items that didn’t sell.
Do buyers know they’re buying after the drop closed?
They get the same messages they’d get during a drop. From their side it just works.
What if I’d rather handle these myself?
Leave the setting off. Comments on old posts will sit there as normal and you can reply and create an order by hand — see How to Create a Manual Sale.
