What Are Thryft Ship Payments?

Payments turns your form into a checkout. Instead of collecting info only, you can collect money directly — a mini store checkout built into your process.

Step 1 — Onboarding

Where: Settings → Accept Payments → Start accepting payments

  1. Click Start accepting payments and complete the Stripe flow.
  2. Add bank details so you can receive payouts.
  3. Return to Thryft Ship — you’ll see a “Welcome to Payments” confirmation.
What you’ll need
  • Business details: type, location, tax info
  • Bank account for payouts
  • Public info: business/name, URL (IG sellers can use https://instagram.com/<YOUR_HANDLE>), industry, description

Step 2 — Customize Your Settings

Pay Later

Let customers add items without paying immediately — great for building bigger orders or giving buyers time.

  • Checkout Link — pay now; redirects to secure Stripe Checkout.
  • Submit Link — add items without paying; you can charge later.

Fee on Me

Choose who covers Stripe’s processing fee.

  • OFF (default): Customer pays the processing fee (e.g., $10.61 on a $10.00 item).
  • ON: You absorb the fee; customer pays your exact price (e.g., $10.00).
Built-in calculator: preview your earnings with Fee on Me ON vs OFF.

Note: Minimum order amount is $1.00 when Fee on Me is enabled.

Documents

Access tax docs and account statements via Stripe once you’re live.

Step 3 — What Customers Experience

  1. Form: They fill out your form (items, contact, etc.).
  2. Summary: Clear total and breakdown.
  3. Secure Checkout: Stripe payment page (Apple Pay/Google Pay where available).
  4. Confirmation: Success page + receipt.
  5. Follow-up: Automatic email with purchase details.
