Seeing a “pending” amount in Thryft Ship Payments? No need to worry — it’s completely normal. The payment went through; the money is just settling before it lands in your available balance.
- Pending = the customer’s payment was approved, but the funds are still settling through Stripe.
- Once settled, the money moves to your available balance — the part you can pay out.
- It’s a normal short delay, not a problem, and it happens automatically.
What does “pending” mean?
A pending payment means the customer’s bank, card, or payment method has already approved the payment. The money is on its way — it just hasn’t fully settled through Stripe yet. In Stripe’s system, funds show up as pending first, then move into your available balance.
Available balance = ready to pay out
Your available balance is the amount you can actually pay out to your bank account (or whichever payout method you’ve set up). Pending funds become available on their own once settlement finishes — usually within a few business days.
Why does this happen?
It’s just a normal part of payment processing. Even though the customer has paid, Stripe takes a little time to complete settlement before the money is fully cleared and ready to move. Nothing is stuck and there’s nothing you need to do.
