USPS scheduled pickups are an easy way of “dropping off” your packages for shipping without having to leave your home! Its lets the Postal Service carrier who delivers packages to your address know that you have packages ready for shipping. The carrier should attempt to pick-up these packages the next day while they are dropping off your mail.
Absolutely! Next day pickups are 100% free with USPS. You can easily schedule them on Thryft Ship any time before the next day cut off time which is 3AM ET. So technically, you can even book same day shipping if you’re awake at that time. 😯
Scheduling with Thryft Ship is easy! After you’ve purchased your labels, click on the three dots next to that batch in the completed section.
Click on schedule pickup and then add your pickup notes! This should contain where the packages will be located.
All package rate types qualify for pickup except media mail. So if you are ONLY shipping media mail, the post office will not come to grab your packages. If you have at least one non-media mail package, though, you are good to go! USPS will come to grab your shipment!
Please bring your packages to a secure, ground-level spot for pickup. 📦🔒 Thanks for making it easy for everyone!
All pickups are scheduled through USPS and handled by your local Post Office. 📦✉️
Every morning, your Post Office receives a list of pickup requests. 📋 Your letter carrier checks this list and picks up your packages when they deliver your mail. 📬 So, your packages should be picked up around the same time as your mail delivery. 🕒
However, sometimes the letter carrier may forget or face challenges like dangerous weather 🧊, blocked paths 🚧, or dogs 🐕, which might prevent them from collecting your packages.
If you experience repeated issues with your pickup requests, we suggest visiting your local Post Office and speaking to the Postmaster. 👩✈️👨✈️ Since pickups are managed locally, this is the best way to address any problems.
