Shop with Purpose: Give Joy, Not Waste 🌍✨

Sustainable Choices for a Brighter Holiday.

The holidays are a time for giving, but they’re also a season of excess waste and overproduction. This year, let’s celebrate mindfully by choosing gifts that honor both people and the planet by shopping sustainably!

Let’s look at some ways we can make the holiday season greener!💚

Holiday Shopping has Huge Impacts💰

Holiday Shopping is predicted to reach an all time high of over $900 this year. This is related to the fact that over 90% of adults in the US are planning on celebrating a winter holiday – Christmas, Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa this year.

This holiday season, consumers are headed to various retail destinations for all of their shopping needs, but online shopping with be most popular with over 55% of consumers planning on purchasing there. This is down almost 2% from last year, so maybe some trends are changing.

Changing Trends🛍

Younger consumers between the ages of 18 to 24 will also head to thrift stores and resale shops. Secondhand and refurbished gifts appeal to this age group’s desire to save money and be more sustainable.

So maybe all of us can join them in shopping second hand to make a change!

Second Hand Holiday Shopping🎁

Why should you thrift your gifts?

Thrifting your holiday gifts helps you give unique presents, save money, and help reduce the waste that comes with the holiday season.

Where can you look to shop for second hand gifts?
  • Instagram Resellers
  • Poshmark
  • Thredup
  • Facebook Marketplace
  • Ebay
  • Local Resellers and Thrift Shops

Other Tips for Gifting Second Hand:
  • Consider who you are buying for – keep their interests and tastes in mind even when thrifting
  • Look for items that still have tags – this is especially great for those who are not as thrifty as you
  • Thrifted home goods are always a great way to go – it is even better when you come across a great vintage find

Be the Change!♻️

As holiday spending is ever growing, so is the waste! This year consider shopping second hand first for your loved ones and be a part of the change! ✨
