Payments Are Live on Thryft Ship

Thryft Ship
September 5, 2025

Big news: you can now accept payments directly through your Thryft Ship form. That means no more juggling Venmo, PayPal, CashApp, or Zelle, no more chasing screenshots as proof of payment, and no more headaches reconciling orders with random transactions.

Your buyers can now check out in seconds — and you stay organized from sale to shipment.

✨ Why Payments Matter

Until now, most resellers had to:

  • Send buyers their Venmo/PayPal/CashApp info

  • Wait for a screenshot to confirm payment

  • Manually match payments to the right order

  • Deal with the confusion when buyers ghosted or got lost in the process

That system isn’t just messy — it costs you real money and time. Missed payments, hours of reconciliation, and even the loss of buyer trust add up.

With Thryft Ship Payments, everything happens in one place. Buyers check out, you get paid, and your orders + labels stay neatly tied together.

⚙️ Features You Can Customize

  • Pay Later → Give your buyers the option to keep an “open order” and pay when they’re ready — or turn it off if you prefer upfront payments.

  • Fee on Me → By default, your buyers cover the Stripe processing fee (2.9% + 30¢), but you can choose to absorb it yourself if you’d like.

And coming soon: you’ll be able to purchase shipping labels directly from your Thryft Ship balance.

💰 What It Costs

  • Stripe Payment Processing Fee: 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction (covered by your customer by default)

  • Thryft Ship fee: 2% of the subtotal

👉 Which means for most sellers, the only fee you’re paying is 2% of the subtotal.

📊 Why It’s Worth It

Let’s run the numbers.

Say you sell $1,000/month through Thryft Ship Payments:

  • Buyers cover Stripe fees by default

  • Your cost = $20 (2% Thryft Ship fee)

  • That’s just $20/month to have payments + shipping fully automated and organized in one place

Now, compare that to the old way:

  • Losing even 1–2 sales a month due to confusion or ghosting: $50–$100 in lost revenue

  • Spending 5+ hours reconciling Venmo/PayPal/Zelle and chasing screenshots: $75+ of your time (valued at $15/hour, likely more)

  • Buyers hesitating because “Leave the Instagram app and pay me on Venmo” feels unprofessional: lost credibility and repeat sales

👉 For just 2%, you save hours, prevent lost sales, and look more legit to your customers.

💸 How Thryft Ship Compares

  • Venmo & PayPal → Fees up to 3% when buyers use a credit card + tons of manual work reconciling screenshots.

  • CashApp & Zelle → “Free,” but zero protection for you as a seller, constant reconciliation, and no professionalism.

  • Poshmark → Flat 20% cut of every sale — on $1,000 in sales, that’s $200 gone.

  • Thryft Ship → Just 2% of the subtotal, with payments + shipping tied together and your buyers covering Stripe fees by default.

That’s 10x more affordable than selling through platforms like Poshmark — and far more professional than piecing it together with Venmo or CashApp.

🚀 The Bottom Line

Payments make Thryft Ship more than just a shipping tool — it’s now your all-in-one sales system. You get:

  • Professional checkout experience for your buyers

  • Faster access to money (no more waiting 2–3 days for payouts)

  • Seamless connection between sales, payments, and shipping

It’s not just more convenient — it’s the smarter, more economical way to run your business.
