How (and How Often) You Get Paid from Your Drops

2 min read · Updated July 2026

You ran a drop, your customers paid — so where's your money, and when can you cash out? The short version: every sale flows into one balance, and you decide when to pay yourself. There's no waiting for a set payday.

TL;DR
  • Money from every drop sale lands in one place — your available balance — about 2 business days after the customer pays.
  • You get paid on your schedule: pay yourself from the Payouts page whenever you want. There's no fixed payday.
  • A standard payout is free and lands in about 1–2 business days. Need it now? An instant payout arrives in about 30 minutes for a small fee.
  • Your very first payout takes about 5–14 days while Stripe finishes setting up your account. After that, it's fast.
  • Not ready to cash out? You can also put your balance toward shipping labels right inside Thryft Ship.

Where your drop money goes

When a customer wins or buys in your drop and pays through their checkout link, that money doesn't go to a separate "Sales Assistant account." It flows into the same available balance as every other sale on Thryft Ship.

One balance for everythingSales Assistant sales, manual sales, and regular orders all pool into the same balance. You never have to track your drop money separately — it's all in one spot, ready to withdraw.

How often can you get paid? As often as you like

This is the part people are surprised by: there's no set schedule. Thryft Ship doesn't pay out on a weekly or monthly cycle — you pay yourself, from your Payouts page, whenever you've got money sitting in your available balance. Once a day, once a week, after every big drop — it's up to you.

From sale to your bank, step by step

  1. A customer pays

Someone wins or buys in your drop and pays through their checkout link.

  2. The payment settles (about 2 business days)

After they pay, it takes roughly 2 business days for the money to clear. Then it shows up in your available balance.

  3. It's ready to withdraw

The cleared money sits in your available balance, alongside every other sale, waiting for you.

  4. You pay yourself

Go to your Payouts page and send it to your bank — standard (free) or instant (fast, small fee).

Two ways to cash out

Standard payout — free. Request it from your Payouts page and the money lands in your bank in about 1–2 business days. This is the option most people use, and it never costs anything.

Instant payout — about 30 minutes. Need cash fast? An instant payout sends your available balance to an eligible debit card or supported bank in roughly half an hour. It costs 1.75% of the amount, with a $0.50 minimum and a $9,999.00 maximum per payout.

You don't have to cash outYour available balance can also go straight toward shipping labels inside Thryft Ship. So the money you just earned from a drop can cover the postage on those same orders — no need to move it to your bank and back.
Your first payout takes a little longerThe very first time you cash out, Stripe holds it for about 5–14 days while it finishes verifying your account. This is a normal, one-time setup wait — nothing is wrong, and every payout after it is quick. Want the full breakdown? See When You Get Paid: Payouts & Instant Payouts.

Common questions

How often do I get paid from my drops?

As often as you want. There's no fixed payday — you pay yourself from your Payouts page whenever there's money in your available balance. Many sellers cash out after each drop; others do it weekly. It's your call.

Why isn't my money available yet?

It usually takes about 2 business days for a customer's payment to clear before it shows up in your available balance. And your very first payout has a one-time 5–14 day setup hold while Stripe verifies your account.

Does getting paid cost anything?

Standard payouts are always free. Instant payouts cost 1.75% of the amount (with a $0.50 minimum and a $9,999.00 maximum) in exchange for getting your money in about 30 minutes.

Do my Sales Assistant sales and manual sales pay out together?

Yes. Everything — drop sales, manual sales, and regular orders — lands in one available balance and pays out together. There's nothing separate to track.

Where do I actually request a payout?

From your Payouts page in the Thryft Ship app. That's where you'll see your available balance and choose a standard or instant payout.
