Open bags allow customers to shop across multiple drops and combine everything into one shipment. Instead of shipping items immediately, an open bag simply tells you not to ship yet — because the customer may add more items and fill up the mailer to save on shipping.
An open bag is a simple “hold” on shipping. It means the customer has purchased items, but they’re still shopping and may add more.
Open bag = “Don’t ship yet, they might add more.”
If you have open bags enabled in settings, customers will see the open bag option during checkout. When they choose it, Thryft Ship keeps the order open so additional items can be added.
This is what you can expect after a customer starts a bag.
You control how long open bags stay active. Set the open bag timeline in your Sales Assistant settings.
Choose the timeframe that matches how often you run drops.
Thryft Ship automatically sends a reminder before an open bag expires, so customers don’t forget to close it.
Less chasing, fewer forgotten bags.
